2. Maxis Are Back In Full Force
For those that don't know, Maxis are the creators of The Sims franchise. They are the reason why this franchise was so ground-breaking, and why it has become a phenomenon for many gamers. Their involvement in The Sims 3 was non-existent until the release of The Sims 3: Showtime expansion pack. Even with that, the Maxis logo did not begin appearing again in the game until the release of The Sims 3: University Life. As a gamer who has played every expansion pack for The Sims 3, I found their lack of involvement made a difference. Mainly, through innovation. Up until the release of Showtime, the expansion packs really did not seem to have any kind of spark. My favourite expansion pack has been University Life, and I honestly believe that it is a result of Maxis heavier involvement with the expansion pack compared to those previous. So, now that they are back and will be involved with The Sims 4 from inception, it leads me to believe that it will bring the franchise back to its prime. While The Sims 3 was brilliant, it lost something. Maybe it was because of the never-ending expansion and stuff packs
(several of which are still to be released), or the feeling that something was missing from the gameplay as stated previously. Whatever caused the issue, it was never a feeling I had when playing the original The Sims game, or even The Sims 2. Hopefully, the Maxis factor is what's going to make all the difference in the future and lead to a game worthy of the iconic franchise. Even with the great news of Maxis return, the best thing that we can expect from The Sims 4 has to be the one and only feature that has been announced for the game...
