To say that CD Projekt RED's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a massive game would an even bigger understatement.

A grand and hugely ambitious RPG that sees the titular monster killer embark on a quest to search for his surrogate daughter Ciri that will take you across a vast fantasy world, the main questline alone can take hundreds of hours to complete. Then there’s the dozens of Witcher contracts you can take, areas to explore, treasure to find, and the ridiculous amount of time spent playing Gwent. And that’s not even mentioning the game’s two expansions, which add even more to Geralt’s story.

With deep and branching questlines offering multiple endings and outcomes, it will take multiple playthroughs to see absolutely everything it has to offer. And even then it’s likely you’ll have missed something worth seeing. In fact, with some quests requiring specific conditions to unlock or vanishing forever after reaching a certain point in the game, you might not even have realised that some of these quests even existed.

If you’re thinking about jumping back into this game, here are the secret quests you need to seek out.

10. A Portrait Of The Witcher As An Old Man

If you have the Blood And Wine expansion installed, you’ll be able to get some reprieve from the monster-infested swamps of Velen and war-torn streets of Novigrad by travelling to the lavish lands of Toussaint.

Like the base game, this expansion comes with plenty of side quests and extra content to keep players busy. One quest you might have passed by, though, is A Portrait Of The Witcher As An Old Man, which offers arguably some of the game’s most lighthearted and humorous moments.

After completing The Warble Of A Smitten Knight (which you can fail if you don’t complete it before tackling the main quest Capture The Castle), head over to the Grand’place market in Beauclair where an artist will comment on Geralt’s appearance and ask him to help with his next work.

Accept the artist’s request and you’ll have the opportunity to accompany him to a scenic spot to pose for a portrait. Fight off some nekkers and a griffin then choose your preferred pose. You can snap up the completed painting for yourself the next day, which also counts towards progress in the quest There Can Be Only One to get a fancy new sword.

Not bad for a day's work.
