The Witcher 4: 10 Ways To Blow Wild Hunt Out Of The Water

4. Creatures With Specific Game Mechanics To Take Down

Some of the most drawn-out and enjoyable showdowns I've had were against airborne enemies, partly because of the look and feel of tackling such majestic mid-air beasts, but also because by forcing you to ground your opponent before doing damage, it adds a mechanical layer to the bout that changes up the otherwise standard "Wait and dodge/stick n' move" approach.

The same can be said for the handful of Noonwraiths or spectral enemies you weaken or somewhat trap with the Yrden spell, but these were still few and far between.

To remedy this, how about CDPR let us reenact the scene of Geralt tackling the Griffin from atop its back, a la the Witcher 3 Collector's Edition statue? Dynamic climbing as an optional part of your repertoire has only been seen in a handful of games (Dragon's Dogma, Zelda: Breath of the Wild), but it adds an immediately engaging element to any combat scenario - one that would be right at home with the Witcherverse's array of formidable creatures.
