THQ Announces Co-Op Details for WARHAMMER 40,000 SPACE MARINE
New Exterminatus co-op mode slated for belated October DLC release - but fear not, it's going to be free...
With the game set for release next week - look out for a review by our own Jim Cross - THQ have belatedly announced some further details for the anticipated Co-Op mode for Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine. The bad news is that we will have to wait until October for the mode to be released, but there is some good news to balance that out. Exterminatus as the co-op mode is being called, will be available for download in early October, and crucially will be available for free to everyone who purchases a retail copy. THQ also confirm that experience gained during the Exterminatus co-op mode will also count towards Space Marines multiplayer ranks. So that's two good decisions, given how badly fans would have reacted had the co-op mode been a free-standing paid DLC, and THQ deserve some credit for going that way. About Exterminatus Space Marines Exterminatus mode pits an elite squad of four Space Marines against hordes of alien enemies in a score based fight to the death. Players can choose the Tactical Marine, Devastator or Assault Marine as well as utilizing any weapons and perks available to those classes. Each of Exterminatus Modes scenarios, Assault on Hab Center Andreas and Escape From Kalkys Facility feature global leader boards challenging players to better their scores by completing dynamic challenges as well as utilizing score modifiers which increase game difficulty in exchange for additional points.Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine is released on September 9th for XBox 360, PS3 and PC.
