Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Set For UK Release in May

Ubisoft announce the UK release date for the latest addition to the Ghost Recon franchise.

Ubisoft have today announced the release date for the fourth installment to the excellent Ghost Recon franchise. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be released in the UK on May 25th 2012, initially on the Xbox 360 andPlayStation3, with the release date set later for Windows PC. The gaming giant also confirmed that a multiplayer beta will be made available in April for both consoles as well. IP development director at Ubisoft Studios, Adrian Lacey, heralded the release announcement with the following statement:
Ubisoft prides itself on creating some of the most compelling and innovative experiences in digital entertainment. Today we are feature complete in our MP, Single player and 4 player coop campaign modes. We have taken the decision to move the date in order to ensure that all these ingredients are pushed to the highest level and provide a truly unique shooter experience. The Ghost Recon franchise is known for setting the standard of high definition gaming and we believe the extra couple of months will allow us to reach that goal. We would like to thank all Ghost Recon fans for their patience and look forward to unveiling some exciting new elements in the coming weeks.
The game is set in a near future in world fractured by war: the player will campaign with the Ghosts as they take on an ultra-nationalist force that has taken control of Russia and using it as a base to invade neighbouring countries, taking control of a 4-man Ghost team consisting of a commando (Kozak), a sniper weapons expert (Pepper), a reconnaissance expert (30k), and an engineer (Bones). Future Soldier will integrate Kinect compatibility for the first time in the series, with a complex customisable weapons system based on voice control, and movement controlled weapons testing. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is available in the UK on May 25th.
