Tomb Raider: 10 Reasons It's Awesome

1. Accessibility

While some of the earlier Tomb Raider were criticised for being too difficult - I remember Tomb Raider 2 being a particular pain in the arse - the latest game is braced perfectly between appealing to more casual players and the adventure fanatics who comprise the franchise's rabid fanbase. One great time-saving mechanic is the ability to teleport between campfires you have already visited, meaning that you don't have to spend half the game just running around as busy-work. The game is focused on the player doing what they want as much as possible, and above all else not making them perform chores to get the job done. It is easily the most accessible and purely entertaining Tomb Raider game of the bunch. Though it still has room for improvement, there's no doubting that this is an encouraging step forward for the series, and I can't wait to see what Crystal Dynamics come up with next. Excited for Tomb Raider? Or has the series had its day? Let us know in the comments below.
