Top 20 PlayStation 2 Games Of All Time

7. Mercenaries

As someone who never really got into any of the GTA games but was still intrigued, Mercenaries was the perfect game for me. A vast world full of possibilities and totally destructible, but with military vehicles and, well, militaries, instead of just thugs and cops, was the perfect combination for those of us in need of a few more explosions. Any game that can make me play through the night to get to the end and finally catch the Ace of Spades is worthy of the top ten. How awesome was it when you finally had helicopters on standby and didn€™t have to jack some guys scooter to get around? Very awesome.

6. MVP Baseball 2004

Now I know baseball isn€™t exactly the most popular sport to some people, and that a lot of people would consider other titles/years to be better than this one, but for me MVP 2004 represented the golden year, right between the lesser graphics and options of yesteryear and the over-exertions of following years to make the game look better. I feel like they sacrificed actual gameplay for the sake of graphics and game modes. In 2004 it was a perfect balance of realistic physics, gameplay that made you actually time a pitch and watch it instead of telling you what it was with some flashing color, and field to camera ratios that made a double in the gap feel like a double in the gap. I€™ll never forget when I hit a ball OVER the train tracks into a building across the street at Minute Maid Park with Albert Pujols against one of my best friends. Hear that Ricketts? I€™m pretty sure that ball is still going. . .
