8 Times Video Games Stopped You Being A Jerk

5. Anakin Won't Help A Murderer - Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace

The video game adaptation of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace allows the sickos among us to go full mask-off red-mist psychopath and slaughter their way across Tatooine while controlling Obi-Wan Kenobi.

If you keep at it long enough, a terrified NPC will start talking about a vicious murderer killing innocent folk all across town.

But there is a huge downside to this "fun" bloodshed - Anakin Skywalker evidently figures out that you're the lightsaber-wielding maniac in question, and when you approach him, he'll refuse to assist you, proclaiming, "I won't help a murderer like you" every time you try to speak to him.

And like that, you've just soft-locked the game, because without Anakin's co-operation, you can't beat the level. The only way to keep progressing onward is to start the level again and, y'know, not indiscriminately end a bunch of innocents.

The irony of Anakin wringing his hands over a little murder considering who he becomes, however, is undeniable.
