Uncharted 4: 20 Amazing Moments
1. The Epilogue
After returning home, Sam and Sully decide to team up, while Nate officially retires from thievery. Sam sneakily gives the gold he got from Libertalia to Elena and Nate, allowing them to buy the shipping company from Nate's boss, where they plan to set off on a whole new set of (legal) adventures, documenting their travels for Elena's new show.
Then, we're suddenly back playing Crash Bandicoot, and after finishing the level, we pan slowly around a room to reveal a dog and a young girl, who turns out to be Nate and Elena's young daughter Cassie.
The player can then control Cassie, walking around the house (which is situated on an unspecified island), finding a letter from Sully (where he's retired and hanging out with Sam, having stopped smoking for an entire year!), and heading across to the adjacent house, where they find the key to Nate's cupboard full of artifacts from his adventures.
Nate and Elena come home to catch Cassie rooting through their stuff, and decide it's time to give Cassie "the talk" about their life of plunder. In a nice touch, Nate's hair has a little grey in it, but of course, he's still a ridiculously handsome devil.
The game comes to a conclusion with Nate and Cassie walking off talking about his adventures, while Elena stares lovingly at two images, of Nate and Sam as kids (taken in one of the game's flashback levels), and an image of Nate, Elena and Sully gathered around some loot. Roll credits.
If you never thought something as flippantly bonkers as Uncharted could have emotional resonance, think again. Admit it, you got at least a little bit choked up.
