8 Massive Predictions For Universal Studios' Nintendo Theme Park

1. Metroid Fusion

At their best, Metroid titles are eerie and isolating, but they're also deeply exciting, and encounters with alien creatures can offer some of the most purely exhilarating experiences Nintendo has to offer.

Which would make it fantastic, then, if Universal Studios was to construct a ride that's solely focused on pleasing an older audience. Just like the Metroid series is known for refusing to pander to a young children in gameplay and aesthetic (let's just forget Metroid Prime: Federation Force for a minute), a ride that goes €œall out€ to thrill would be incredible.

Make it big. Make it fast. Make it absolutely terrifying. Modelling the ride off something like Disney's Space Mountain would be a great start. Indoors in darkness would allow for a bunch of really cool, Metroid-themed encounters. What if the attraction began by simulating Samus travelling through space (aka total darkness but for tiny lights representing stars and a huge, illuminated planet in the distance), only to round a corner into a lit-up environment producing the feeling of having landed.

The speed of the ride and the ability to use darkness to manipulate space means some seriously awesome (and terrifying) alien encounters could be created, finishing with a climatic €œbattle€ with Ridley.
