Warner Bros E3 LEAK: Injustice 3, New Batman, Mortal Kombat & More
New rumours claim WB's E3 reveals still on for June.
Leaky season is well and truly upon us. Following reports yesterday of a disgruntled Naughty Dog employee leaking The Last of Us Part 2's story, as well as rumours surrounding Bethesda's long anticipated sixth Elder Scrolls game emerging on the internet later that same day, we now have yet ANOTHER supposed leak to deal with - this time surrounding WB Games' unannounced projects.
Back in March, former Kotaku reporter Jason Schreier reported that Warner Bros. were originally set to announce several high-profile in-development projects at this year's E3 prior to its cancellation. Batman: Arkham, Harry Potter and Rocksteady's untitled DC game were all name-checked, with Schreier at the time commenting that it remained to be seen what WB would do next.
If rumours are to be believed however, we may finally have our answer. According to a post on 4Chan (which should of course be devoured with a good lashing of sodium), Warner Bros. are set to announce several new projects in June, the same month as E3 was meant to take place. Among the rumoured projects include Hitman 3, which will ostensibly be the "final game of the reboot trilogy", and a new edition of Mortal Kombat 11 that'll bring characters like Quan Chi and Ash Williams of Evil Dead fame into the title.
More exciting, perhaps, is that the post comments on both the rumoured Batman: Arkham reboot and Injustice 3. The post claims the Batman title will see Roger Craig Smith and Troy Baker reprise their roles from Arkham Origins, but that it is a "soft reboot" and will have the "largest open world Gotham City yet". The post repeats more rumours we've heard previously, such as the addition of a playable Bat-Family and vehicle gameplay sans Arkham Knight-style tank combat, but also claims villains like Dollmaker (yes) and Clock King (HELL YES) will feature too.
All these titles are set to be announced in June according to the report, bar Injustice 3. NetherRealm's game is supposedly on track for a 2022 release and will feature Nekron of the Black Lanterns as the main antagonist, with "Neo / Keanu Reeves" being one of the guest characters.
WB are expected to reveal SOMETHING this year, so it won't be too long until we find out if there's any substance to this latest leak.
