What Every Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Fan Thinks Of Every Sekiro Boss

11. Emma And Isshin Ashina

Now, I know that a lot of people might separate these two because their fights are rewarded by different achievements, but as soon as you beat Emma, the battle with Isshin begins, so I’m counting them together.

Also, to make this crystal clear, these may indeed be my favourite boss battles in the entire game.

The emotion running through both fights as you side with Owl Dad and now must face down your former allies is heartbreaking at times, especially when Emma steps into the fray. It's clear from her one health bar that the battle is one sided, but she's desperate enough to try and stop you from becoming a Shura.

Plus that doesn't mean you should underestimate her because with her hilarious flip throw and cross blade attacks she'll put your on your ass if you go in expecting and easy fight.

However it's once she's fallen that the real test begins. With Ishiin acting as a hard counter to what you've just experienced. Here the first phase is full of slower attacks but ones that home in meaning you have to dodge at the last second, and in the subsequent phase, the entire arena becomes engulfed in flame as now his attacks gain a huge elemental buff.

It's so easy to panic in this stage and be sent right into the nether but if you keep a cool head while all else is burning around you, you'll have reason to celebrate as you down some of the toughest bosses in the game.

Shame there's actually little reason to celebrate truly, as this actually nets you the bad ending.
