What Your Favourite Games Console Says About You

PlayStation 3 €“ The Gamer

win playstation 3 The PS3 immediately became an elitist item upon its launch in 2006, with capabilities far beyond that of the 360 and a lofty price-tag to match. As a result it attracted only the die-hard gamers willing to spend a month€™s rent on an experience second to only PC gaming and, even though Sony€™s mighty black box is now considerably cheaper than it once was, the PS3 has managed to maintain its prestigious position as the most powerful console on the market to date. Unfortunately it€™s difficult to say what the PS3 being your favourite shows about you without knowing exactly when you bought it, but assuming you got it within the first year or two of its release this should be quite accurate. Lovers of this console tend to be more committed to gaming than those in our other categories, buying newly-released titles on a fairly regular basis and getting excited about key events such as E3 and The Golden Joystick Awards. Unlike The Player, you likely enjoy games for the entire experience they provide, often spending more time in the solo parts of the game than with the online or multiplayer features. In line with this, the amount of time spent €˜partying€™ or playing sports with friends is probably much lower than that of The Player, as you prefer going to the cinema or having a night in with mates to doing anything physically arduous. These are generalisations, as the intro warned, but it is true PS3 idolisers tend to be less social than other consolites (yes, I did make that word up). That€™s not a criticism though, as all it means is that you find more pleasure in video games than in playing go kickadeball or drinking the bad thoughts away. You€™re probably also a loyalist to Sony, as the stupidity shown by many players over the course of this generation€™s console war has left a great sense of distaste towards Microsoft€™s console creations. However, if the rumours about the new Xbox are true, perhaps there won€™t be any competition to despise for very much longer€
