Mario Tennis
The Game: When the Game boy first came out there were games called Tennis and Golf. Both of these games had Mario in them, just as Mario was the referee in Mike Tyson's Punch Out. Mario was of course not the star of any of these games. Maybe at this point in his history Nintendo wasn't confident that Mario would seem a fit for games that were so obviously different from what you were used to seing him doing. Skip forward about eight years and it was the era of the N64 and Nintendo had had a change of heart. Or they just didn't give a hoot and figured that putting Mario on any cover is guaranteed to make it more money. Whatever the reason Mazza was thrown into a series of sporting titles which completely showed up the rival serious sports simulation games that had been going for years. They managed to get that the reason we play sports is the same reason we play video games; to have fun. So Ninty did what Ninty does best and made Golf, Tennis and many mor sports to follow fun in its simpliest sense.
What It Says About You: Youre a sports fan. Every year when Wimbledon comes on you have a two television set up on the go. On television one you have the latest match and you are keenly listening to every point, set and grunt. On the other TV you have your games console and in the spirit of the sport on TV one you are playing Mario Tennis. Girl or guy you are multi tasking and cursing every dodgy umpire decision and every time Toad schools you and you hate the fact that youre losing to the most annoying character in the world (Bar Slippy Toad of course)
Soundbite: That Bob Omb was on the line!
