Why The Gaming Industry Needs To SERIOUSLY Change
Day One Patches
It's a common situation. You buy a new game, you load it up and are told the game needs an update, on day one. Delivering patches over the internet is a double edged sword.
Obviously, it allows the developer to address a problem post-launch that may have been missed during development. But nowadays it seems as if developer's simply forgo quality testing the game so it can meet a deadline, and simply release a patch on launch.
