Windows 8 to Support Xbox 360 Games

Two sources - teknylate.com and insideris.com - are reporting that the new Microsoft operating system Windows 8 will allow PC users to play Xbox 360 games on their computers. Apparently the only thing PC users will have to do is have Windows 8 and pop the Xbox 360 game into their DVD drive and that is it.... play time begins. However, your PC will still need to be powerful enough to run the games. In addition, if you want to play these games online, PC players will have to buy access into an Xbox Live feature like Xbox 360 users have to. This could be very good news for all the PC gamers out there who have games they want to play but are not on the PC at this time. Games like Red Dead Redemption may now be available to play on the PC thanks to this option. The question is why is Microsoft doing this because surely the option to play 360 games on the PC gives people a reason to not buy their own Xbox 360? The general thinking behind this is Microsoft are already working on their next console and that the Xbox 360 days may be numbered. My opinion is, Microsoft is doing this because their next console will not be backwards compatible with Xbox 360 games and this is a way to appease fans.
