WWE 13: 10 Criminally Absent Attitude Era Superstars

2. Chris Benoit

I guess you really can€™t blame the WWE for distancing themselves from the late Chris Benoit after the circumstances surrounding his death. You€™re almost certainly aware that Benoit murdered his wife and child before committing suicide at his home in Fayetteville, Georgie. The media storm that surrounded the incident painted a dark picture of steroid abuse and brain damage which actually forced the WWE to change many of the policies and practices surrounding their Superstar Wellness program. With that said, I€™m not certain that €œforgetting€ that Benoit ever existed was the most tactful way to address the incident amidst the aftermath. It€™s certainly the defining reason that Benoit isn€™t in WWE 13 and why he€™ll probably never be in a WWE game again and perhaps that€™s for the best. It€™s a contested issue to be sure. Where do you stand? Are WWE right to disassociate themselves with one of the Attitude Era€™s most gifted stars, or should they remember him as the great performer he once was?
