9. I Quit! Undoubtedly one of the most entertaining match types in the whole of wrestling, the I Quit format offers the added entertainment factor of brutality, and the consequent need for submission. While this could all have devolved into a UFC-style floored grapple-fest, were it not for the fact that the WWE would never accept such a sacrifice of its core entertainment factor - and instead the matches provide full-frontal action and the kind of combat that goes down in wrestling lore. Consider, for instance the infamous match between Mankind and The Rock, pictured above - a now-legendary bout that cemented the reputations of both men, and gave us some more of that hardcore Mankind magic. If you feel like there's been a bias in this article towards Mankind, it would be with good reason - to me, he was the main-event of the Era, who consistently offered some of the biggest thrills, and put his body through the mangle every time his feet hit the canvas.
