5. Other Additions
With the Attitude Era mode covering mid-97 to WrestleMania XV, some PPVs are included which were main evented by match types not in WWE 12. That has led THQ to reintroducing the much-loved I Quit and Special Guest Referee match types. It means that the player will be able to relive the classic match between The Rock and Mankind from Royal Rumble 99 and the Dude Love and Austin confrontation from Over the Edge 98. The other major inclusion is not a match type as such, but a competition. The popular King of the Ring tournament has returned, with the player being able to choose 4, 8 or 16 participants, whether it is a Diva or Superstar tournament and the match types for the event. The competition even ends with a cutscene, which shows the winner sat on the throne in the full costume. Like WWE 12, this years game has plenty of Championships from wrestling history. Over 40 Championships are in, including the Smoking Skull Belt, the Brahma Bull Belt and even Zach Ryders Internet Championship. Both Ricardo Rodriguez and the legendary Paul Bearer have also been included in WWE 13 as managers. The final major change is WWE Live. The sound system during the matches has been completely overhauled, with the crowd not only being much louder, but also more realistic and more receptive of what is happening in the ring. For example, when a player hits a finishing move the crowd sound will now reflect that. Chants have been captured from real WWE shows, including the Yes chants for Daniel Bryan.
