WWE 14: 10 Implications From THQ Sale To Take Two

3. Better Online

Though we all rejoiced when Yukes finally introduced online play into the WWE games, it's a mode that has been painstakingly developed over several titles and still hasn't quiet reached its potential. The introduction of rankings and a level system in recent games has been very much welcome, but there are still plenty of persistent issues that plague it from achieving greatness, namely nagging server issues - I use a 70MB fiber-optic connection and still suffer horrendous latency, even after checking my NAT ports and so on - and an absolute lack of a community. 2K, on the other hand, have mastered this for years; NBA 2K13 receieved supremely positive notices for its if-it-ain't-broke-don't-touch-it online mode, which has helped cement the series as the premiere basketball property in contemporary gaming. It goes without saying that their streamlined approach should ensure that they make the most of the WWE's multiplayer possibilities.
