WWE 2K Battlegrounds Review: 4 Ups & 4 Downs

Downs...

4. Limited Creation Options

2K Battlegrounds' more streamlined approach meant there were always going to be sacrifices in the customisation department but while the new creation suite's more straightforward approach fits the game as a whole, its limited options are unlikely to appease those looking to flex their artistic muscles.

Players are limited to just five custom character slots at the start of the game. More can be unlocked with progression, though the idea of building your own army of wrestlers loses its appeal the first time you run through the limited parts and customisation options. Again, more are unlocked as you play, but the range of options is limited.

Battleground creation is even more one-note, with users unable to craft much beyond basic wrestling arenas with different coloured ropes, barricades, aprons, etc. Don't enter this expecting to be able to make environments on par with the game's wilder locations.
