6. The Rock vs. Stone Cold
After shockingly losing the Royal Rumble to Vince McMahon, Stone Cold Steve Austin eventually won the right to challenge for the WWE title at WrestleMania 15. Months earlier McMahon said there was no chance of a rebellious, foul-mouthed beer drinker appearing centre-stage at the flagship pay-per-view, and the WWE chairman did everything he could to prevent Austin from reaching WrestleMania. In the end, after overcoming numerous obstacles, including a triple threat match between Kane and The Undertaker in which the two half-brothers weren't allowed to pin each other, Austin fought back against the odds to reach the Mania main event. There, he took on McMahon's stooge, The Rock, who was part of the Corporation faction, and despite running interference, McMahon could not stop the Texas Rattlesnake from winning the title after delivering a Stone Cold Stunner to the "People's Champion" and securing the three count.
