WWE 2K15: 10 Epic Sting Matches That Must Be Included

2. Vs Ric Flair (Great American Bash 1990)

If the last match is what put Sting on the map, this is the match that made him officially arrive at the big time. Winning his first World Title, defeating the man he hadn't been able to beat up until that point, and doing it at what was the company's second-biggest pay-per-view event (the SummerSlam to Starrcade's WrestleMania, basically) of the year? That was huge. There was a really good story being told here, with Sting returning from a knee injury given to him by Flair and the Four Horsemen, so Flair, being the "Dirtiest Player In The Game" and all, does everything he can to work Sting's knee over. Not only is that good ring psychology, but it's ring psychology that makes sense, with Flair's Figure-Four Leglock always a moment away from being applied. While a good match, as all of their matches were, this wasn't their best work together. For historical purposes, though, you have to rank this right up towards the top as the moment that Sting officially "arrived".
