WWE 2K15: 10 Famous Wrestling Injustices You Should Put Right

4. Twice In A Lifetime

John Cena and The Rock are undeniably two of the greatest of all time - but their bout at WrestleMania XXIX wasn't necessary. Their clash at 'Mania XXVIII was a little slow, but it was historically significant and felt special, if only because it was The Rock's return to one-on-one wrestling. And although their first bout was billed as Once In A Lifetime, that didn't end up being the case. John Cena won The Royal Rumble in 2013, and at that same event The Brahma Bull defeated CM Punk to end his monumental run as WWE Champion and set up Legacy vs. Redemption. Any match featuring The Rock will invariably garner interest, and it's hard to complain about it since fans had clamoured for him to return to the WWE for years. But regardless, it just felt like a bit of a waste. How good was the match going to be? Based off their first match, not good enough to get overly excited - and ultimately their rematch would be a structurally unsound one, with the first half consisting of headlocks and rest holds and the second seeing the two hit finisher after finisher on each other. We had seen The Rock and Cena feud for a year and have their WrestleMania XVIII match, there was nothing fresh here. It was made especially hard to watch because of CM Punk - his title run fell victim to Twice In A Lifetime, and it truly seemed like he had earned the right to main event a 'Mania.
He proved that point with his match against Cena in February, which was the best Raw match in recent memory and would've served as a far more worthy match the close the Showcase of Immortals. When you pick up WWE 2K15, slot out The Rock and let Cena and Punk have the 'Mania match they always should've.
