5. Other Promotions

Wccw AWA, ECW, WCCW, and other defunct promotions have all sold their tape libraries to WWE, yet they haven't been represented well in video games. Outside of fan creations, there's no way to play as the Von Erichs, the Gagnes, or even Rob Van Dam in recent WWE games. Utilizing the likenesses of WCW wrestlers could open the floodgates to other classic promotions' talent. ECW wasn't exactly a huge part of the Monday Night Wars. Except for the threat of Mike Awesome taking the ECW belt with him to Nitro, ECW pretty much stuck to Friday nights on TNN. Throwing in the 1997 ECW invasion, however, would be a welcome treat, an unexpected side story that would foreshadow ECW's later involvement in the Monday Night Wars. Plus, you could have Sabu fall off the giant letter R in the Raw sign.
