WWE 2K16: 10 Awesome Old Features That Must Return

4. General Manager Mode

Ever since the mode was introduced to WWE video game fans during the Smackdown vs. Raw era, WWE Universe Mode has been responsible for a heck of a lot of complaints from players. Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 was the first time fans got a glimpse of what was promised to be a cool amalgamation between 'throwaway' exhibition bouts and a Story Mode feel. Needless to say, it didn't live up to the hype, and continues to be a redundant feature in WWE 2K15. There's fun to be had, sure, but the truly exciting moments are few and far between. In Smackdown vs. Raw 2006, 2007 and 2008, General Manager Mode offered something a little more in-depth, and gave people a reason to get excited about booking matches and storylines. It wasn't perfect - especially by the time the feature was renamed 24/7 Mode in 2008 - but it allowed players to live in a world of fantasy they'd created, which is surely the point of WWE games. WWE 2K16 could reignite the concept of this mode, expanding it in the process to become far more useful than the pedestrian WWE Universe feature that bores significantly after just a few short hours. In General Manager Mode, there was a feeling of working towards something, that end of year 'GM Of The Year' award. It offered simulation elements, without sacrificing the core experience.
