There's absolutely no chance of Steve Austin's ECW run being included in the new game due to the fact that Vince McMahon openly tried to kill the company's memory with its reboot. Bringing this back will in turn rekindle a bit of the land of Extreme. Also, many of the cast of rapscallions that made up the ECW locker room at the time won't be on the new game. You couldn't have Austin standing alone in an empty ECW Arena now could you... The origins of the Stone Cold character can be traced back as far as Steve's time in ECW. Injury meant the former Hollywood Blonde's time in the ring was pretty limited due to injury, but Austin has gone on record many times conveying his gratitude to Paul Heyman for giving him a job and the platform to express himself. Even though his action in the ring was pretty limited, Austin did have notable matches against the likes of The Sandman and Mikey Whipwreck so the action here wouldn't be completely limited to vignettes, as good as they were...
