WWE 2K16: 10 Simple Fixes That Would Make It Awesome

3. Shaking Up Stipulations

A big plus in this year's game is that many missing match modes from previous years which mysteriously vanished in WWE 2K15 are now back. However, those which have remained a constant over the years have yet to advance in a significant way. While you could forgive 2K15 for getting used to the new gen consoles, there's really no excuse for the latest instalment not making a big leap in terms of gameplay, specifically in regards to Ladder, Table, and Steel Cage matches. Ladder matches still force players to stand atop the ladder tugging at the belt, while Table ones are as clunky and awkward as ever. Putting someone through one of those still seems to come down to luck, with it once again being easier just to prop a table in the corner and Irish Whip your opponent through it. Steel Cage matches meanwhile may have added some new camera angles for when you throw an opponent into the nasty structure, but that's it; they still can't be utilised as a weapon in any way. Sure, maybe the ability to rub you opponents face into the steel mesh is a little too much to ask, but the fact remains that the way you play and win these matches has not evolved in even a minor way for years now. An argument could no doubt be made that 2K Games are taking a "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," approach, but it feels lazy. An overhaul of how you should approach these and what you can do in them would have made a massive difference to how enjoyable they are in WWE 2K16.
