Is this also known as Russo WCW? Maybe - there was plenty of harrowing stuff before Vinne Roo was even part of the company - but whenever WCW is brought up in conversation on WWE programming these days, more times than not, it's completely sh*t on by all concerned.
Oh how they laugh at those horrible match stipulations, storylines and RoboCop.
WWE won the Monday Night Wars, so it's almost their right to remind us how they were superior to their biggest competition of all time. Just look at how their egos got in the way of Sting's in-ring debut at WrestleMania XXXI. They attacked The Stinger's match from the wrong angle and simply put the company over WCW one last time even though the war ended 14 years prior.
However, what they so often fail to remind us of is how WCW wiped the floor with WWE for 84 weeks in the ratings, brought the cruiserweight over and blew the minds of the mainstream audience, and made wrestling cool again with The Outsiders and then nWo.
