WWE 2K17: 9 Things It Must Include From 2K16

7. Match Pacing

Never have we seen a wrestling game that mirrors the product we see in the real life ring so closely. This is down to a couple of features that were introduced in 2K16. The first of which is the rationed reversals, which are split into major and minor categories and help to ensure the flow of a match is largely undisturbed. For so long in our wrestling games we'd have to sit through around 1,000,000 reversals during a five minute squash match since they're so easy to do. While this might have gained you the advantage on so many occasions, it really did make for some frustrating gameplay at times and simply wasn't the sports entertainment that we enjoy to watch on our televisions each week. The rations of reversals - which vary between 1-5 depending on how highly ranked your chosen Superstars is - has eradicated that problem and means we enjoy are far more stimulating, yet challenging match management experience. The introduction of working holds, which our real life Superstars use to take a breather when the going gets tough in the middle of a long match, is another key facet that was introduced in the current game. They're used to rest, essentially, and are so very essential to the overall jigsaw that is putting together a match. Simply put, they need to stay.
