The WWE 2K franchise usually tries to keep their starting champions as accurate as possible upon the game's release. Given her current status as NXT Women's Champion, what reason is there to exclude Shayna Baszler from this year's game?
The Queen of Spades made her presence felt during the first Mae Young Classic, making it to the finals before succumbing to Kairi Sane. A former mixed martial artist, Shayna was part of the sport's famous Four Horsewomen group, and used her abilities learned in the octagon to destroy her opposition. One of the key moves in her arsenal is the Kirifuda Clutch, which is what she used to ascend to the top of the NXT women's division.
The cut-off date for the on-disc basics is usually around WrestleMania time, the weekend Shayna became the new NXT Women's Champion. With that in mind, it's unlikely she won't be in the game.
