WWE 2K19 Ratings: 10 Superstar Ratings That Make No Sense

3. The Rock

WWE 2K19 The Rock
2K Games

Rating: 93

Why It Makes No Sense: “The Rock is the most integral part of the WWE, and his absence would leave a gaping hole in the company’s main event scene.”

This sentence would have made perfect sense in 2001. The Rock was the company’s biggest star, and the WWF revolved around him. WWE saw fit to give his 2001 version a rating of 91. This might have been a little bit low for some people’s standards, but at least it establishes him as a figurehead of the company.

Fast forward to 2018, and The Rock has wrestled exactly one match in the last five years, beating Erick Rowan in six seconds. Sure, he’s still a huge star so it would be wrong to give him a rating that’s too low. Maybe something that established his legendary status, but nothing too high. He got a 93.

For some unfathomable reason, the folks at 2K believe that wrestling six seconds in five years is worth the highest rating in the game (along with Brock Lesnar, who’s wrestled more or less the same amount of time). Some WWE stars that The Rock has beaten in terms of rating are… pretty much everyone.

2K need to remind themselves that this the modern version of The Rock, and he simply isn’t a main eventer anymore. Something around 88 or 89 (similar to many of his fellow legends in their prime) should justify that.
