WWE 2K20: 10 New Details You Need To Know
6. Streamlined Controls
There's been a major problem with accessibility in wrestling video games for decades now. It's an on and off issue, admittedly (some titles, like No Mercy, WCW Mayhem and Here Comes The Pain have been easier to pick-up-and-play), but it's still a problem. Try to fire up 2K19 and play a few matches with someone unaccustomed to these games and you'll get frustrated quickly.
2K want to change that by offering streamlined, simplified controls that will make things less daunting.
Anyone who has young children will punch the air with delight at this news. Though details on how these controls will work are scarce right now, it's not impossible to envision 2K going down the EA Sports route and introducing a one or two-button layout that's contextual and inviting to newcomers. That'd make the most sense.
In a key line from the press release, 2K said "experienced players will still enjoy a challenge". Hopefully, this "challenge" won't come from wrestling with environments or accidentally exiting the ring when trying to scale the corner turnbuckle. It's a good thing 2K are battling this ongoing concern.
