WWE 2K20 Review: 3 Ups & 9 Downs
3. Online Play Is Appallingly Bad (Again)
The online multiplayer suite has always been a crushing disappointment in these games, and this year's edition sure is no exception.
Even trying to play the most basic 1v1 match online is an exercise in frustration, with overpowering lag ensuring most of your inputs are delayed by a solid half-second. In a game centered around reversals, that's pretty much fatal.
But if you dare try to play a multi-man match with up to six superstars, prepare for a long sit, as the game speed effectively halves for reasons unknown.
This is without even getting into the fact that only a scarce few game modes are even playable online - why the hell isn't there an online Royal Rumble?
And despite the potential for online rankings and leaderboards, they're once again totally absent in this painfully bare bones offering.
Oh, and in another baffling decision, entrances for online play have been removed for some reason. Right.
