9. SURPRISE - Mia Yim / RECKONING
Whether it's a good thing or a bad thing that Retribution in its entirety is being included in 2K22 is up to your own personal taste. Perhaps we should be grateful that WWE's woeful tag team division is getting a boost with some released teams, on top of the women's division getting one of the shining stars of the Mae Young Classic.
Mia Yim made her video game debut in the previous title under her own name. The next year, she herself would debut as the Lecter-mask-wearing RECKONING as part of the terribly booked Retribution stable made up of NXT stars. Think Nexus but dressed like a Mad Max-style S&M dungeon.
The group failed miserably, lasting just over a year before disbanding in 2021. Yim returned to her own name but was released before re-debuting. This makes things interesting as both Mia Yim and RECKONING are in the game as separate characters, a perfect opportunity for the two to go head-to-head and have Keith Lee's wife crush her tragic gimmick.
