Replay value is another must, if only because (again) the older games had it. Make certain choices at the right times in SmackDown vs. Raw 2007, for example, and you'd find the story spinning off in a totally new direction from the last time you played.

2K22's MyCareer could use that kind of branching style.

There's a 'one and done' nature to 2K20's MyCareer that strips it of any and all replayability. You're just sorta' along for the ride, and there isn't much you can do to alter the narrative's flow. In 2K22, it'd be so cool to have more control over things and effectively shape the story as your own.

Key decisions could lead to feuds with Bray Wyatt's 'Fiend', or enlist him as an ally. Elsewhere, being able to decide between going after the Intercontinental Title or aligning with a new partner to chase the Tag-Team gold would be neat.
