WWE 2K23: 10 Things To Know Before You Buy
1. It Won’t Reinvent The Wheel, But...
2K rightly earned a lot of praise for reworking the franchise after taking a year off. 2K22 was a step in the right direction after an endless string of mediocre releases culminated in the disastrous 2K20, and 2K23 promises to be largely more of the same.
That’s hardly a bad thing. Refinements should make this an improvement fans of last year’s game will still enjoy, and gameplay tweaks like the brand new pinfall mechanic will be a hidden treat for some. Plus, and this is a big plus, the devs are making steps towards producing the definitive WWE gaming experience again.
There's clearly a bit of excitement surrounding 2K's relationship with WWE these days, and that was missing for a while even before 2K20 took a stinky sh*t on everyone's hopes and dreams. So, don't go in expecting 2K23 to be radically different to 2K22, but do know it'll be a souped-up version with some fab improvements/new things to play around with.
Next week can't come soon enough.
