WWE 2K25 Early Reviews: 13 Major Details We Learned
1. A Most Interactive Environment
This was already known: the extent of it was not.
WWE 2K25 offers players an interactive environment like never before, with the ring and surrounding area being where the destructive opportunities begin. The barricade can be climbed atop of, with up to two players capable of being on the protective railing at once, though no attacks can be completed on top of the area. Instead, diving off the barricade is where the damage stems, while players can also perilously use the barricade as a tightrope. If the barricade happens to be lit by LEDs, these can be damaged and, ultimately, broken with frequent attacks, as can the LED ring posts.
At ringside, the PRIME Hydration Station can be interacted with, too. Throwing an opponent into it allows both the small bottles of PRIME to be used as weapons, as well as the beefier bottle, which includes a needlessly gnarly grapple animation. Ouch.
Backstage, 2K has a treasure trove of environmental attacks waiting to be used. In addition to the already-included vehicles to be climbed upon and spotlight to be thrown through are, the iconic SmackDown fist can be fought on top of in the WWE Archives setting, as can a scaffold in the NXT parking lot. Throw an adversary off of this, and there's a strong chance they'll crash through a pane of glass.
Real glass!
Just don't let CM Punk find out.
