Xbox Game Pass: 10 Essential 360 & Xbox Games You Must Play

4. Skate 3

Mass effect 2
EA

Considering the paucity of skating titles available for a while (hopefully the release of the stellar Tony Hawk remaster will rectify this going forward), finding a good skating game on Game Pass is a true triumph.

The third instalment in EA's popular Skate series, which has remained altogether mysteriously dormant since, Skate 3 features a fairly self-deprecating, self-aware plot frame that sees your skater try to become a mogul and sell a million of their brand's boards.

Featuring a number of real life skaters, including particular Jason Lee as Coach Frank, Skate 3 was well received at the time, if considered to be a little too similar to its predecessor than it ought to have been. That demerit no longer seems to apply; what does it matter if it was similar to something that was excellent? And it stands out amongst the backwards compatible offerings on Game Pass, even if in the grand scheme, some felt it was too similar to the other entries in the series.

If you have a skating itch to scratch in unison with that classics gaming itch, Skate 3 is where it's at.
