8. Trying To Involve Kinect... AGAIN

The Kinect is always going to remembered as one of Microsoft's biggest failures. It seems that the big M forgot how badly it failed the first time however, as the attempt to involve it with the initial launch of the Xbox One was even worse.

Although a lack of effective technical upgrades to the Kinect was a big reason for its failure, the biggest killer was the lack of games. Before it was completely ditched, the most notable game released for the Kinect was Fighter Within, a mediocre fighting game that relied on precise movements that the Kinect just couldn't deliver.

Including the Kinect as a mandatory feature also provided the Xbox One with another big problem: hitching up the launch price by quite a hefty amount. This only made it easier to go for the PS4, which was much cheaper by comparison because it didn't include a forced peripheral.

Really, one of the best moves that Microsoft made with the Xbox One was when they decided to cut the Kinect entirely.
