2. Watch Dogs
Watchdogs is an upcoming open-world adventure game that places you in the shoes of an expert hacker called Aiden Pearce. Spinning a narrative befitting this age of information warfare, Aiden can manipulate a supercomputer (the CtOS Central Operating System) that controls every technological device in the city. Recent
gameplay walkthroughs illustrate how this conceit translates into engaging gameplay. The most striking applications being the multitude of ways in which you can thwart the police when embroiled in a chase, be that through raising mechanical bridges or interfering with traffic lights to provoke vehicle pile-ups. The premise allows for some exciting gameplay mechanics, it just remains to be seen how Ubisoft Montreal strikes the balance between player agency and scripting. If its judged just right, affording the player enought scope to experiment while focusing the experience, then Watchdogs has the potential to be stunning.
