In the current climate of Cyberpunk 2077 being a raging inferno and EA sliding multi-million dollar bids over the table to purchase Codemasters, it can be hard to take a step back and take in your fanciest piece of new kit.

With stock shortages ensuring only a fraction of those who wanted a next-gen machine actually managed to get one day one or week one, it's been a drip-feed of impressions from the general public and critics alike.

Thankfully though, that extended hands-on period only means more excuses to talk about the systems themselves, and in the Series X|S's case, Microsoft have outdone themselves.

Playing one hell of a hand involving Game Pass, xCloud streaming and auto-enhancements for as many Xbox titles as possible across the last 20 years, buying a new Xbox means everything you already own plays better than ever, and in you're in good hands for the future.

The jury's still out on whether Xbox's lack of exclusives will hurt them across 2021, but as an investment in gaming as a medium, the Series systems are perfect for newcomers to gaming and veteran players alike.
