Yooka-Laylee: 6 Big Reasons To Be Very Excited

1. Everything About The Project Is Incredibly Heartwarming

At the time of writing there is are just 25 days left to go before the Kickstarter ends, and they have reached just under £1.7 million. The love for this project is immeasurable.

Rare are even struggling to come up with new stretch goals before they’re met, and they need to find something else to do with all the leftover money.

This basically means that a great deal of content is going to be packed into this game from the get-go; including character designs from other ex-Rareware employees, epic bosses for each level, local co-op, 2-4 player multiplayer and a transformation mechanic, which may be reminiscent of the animal transformations from Banjo Kazooie. There's even a button to swap between current graphics and that of the N64 era, just for kicks.

Even if the pledges completely stopped today, Playtonic would have plenty to polish and perfect already, but they continue to fill out every aspect of the game with enough content to make player investment worthwhile.

Oh, and there’s no playing favourites with Nintendo or Microsoft or anyone else, because it’s getting released simultaneously for PC, Mac, Linux, Playstation 4, Xbox One and Wii U - all thanks to the £1,000,000 stretch mark they met days after the campaign launch.
