Yu-Gi-Oh: 10 Best Signature Monsters From The Anime
1. Blue Eyes White Dragon
Blue Eyes White Dragon is arguably the most recognisable of all the thousands upon thousands of cards in the entire game.
Seto Kaiba's main monster, Blue Eyes was the focal point of the TCG's first ever booster set, the aptly named Legend Of Blue Eyes White Dragon.
For a long time the strongest card in the game due to its pure beat stick potential (3000 ATK and 2500 DEF was formidable in the early days of the game), the vanilla Blue Eyes has since been surpassed. But, thanks to continued support and an immeasurable pop culture legacy, the original great dragon still sees casual play to this day.
Although Blue Eyes was already a powerful card by standards of the competitive game in the early 2000s, it has the anime to thank for its legendary status. Intent on owning all copies of the card in the world, Kaiba tears Yugi's grandfather's version of the card, leaving him in possession of the only three White Dragons in existence.
'Neo' and 'Alternative' versions of these monsters may surpassed the originals in terms of gameplay potential, but Kaiba's original beloved Blue Eyes remains the most iconic monster across all seven Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, and likely will remain so for all of time.
