Zelda: Breath Of The Wild - 20 Things You Didn't Know You Could Do
13. Use Amiibos For Specific In-Game Unlocks
Breath of the Wild doesn't have microtransactions, but if you want some additional content outside of the Season Pass, you'll have to seek out some specific Amiibos.
I only know of two so far, but as Nintendo release more, you can bet they'll all do something unique in the game (plus there are three tie-in BotW Amiibos, too).
First up, if you bring across the Wolf Amiibo from the Wii U re-release of Twilight Princess, you'll spawn that very same wolf as a temporary companion. Second - and the coolest secret feature so far - use the Super Smash Bros. Twilight Link Amiibo, and you'll get Epona; the iconic horse from Ocarina of Time's artwork and the franchise overall.
It's worth noting that you need to be in the 'Fields of Epona' to trigger the stallion, otherwise you'll just get a treasure chest instead. Though, said chest does contain Twilight Link's awesome tunic, which is more than a good enough first step.
