Zelda: Breath Of The Wild - 8 Mind-Blowing Theories About The Story

2. The Game Will Tackle The Original Zelda's Initial Concept

Video game pioneer Shigeru Miyamoto has been quoted as stating that The Legend Of Zelda on the NES originally had a much different concept. Miyamoto claims that the NES title was supposed to feature Link travelling between the past and present, collecting high-tech circuitry as opposed to the Triforce. That's why Link is called, well Link – he was a link between two eras.

Sadly, the technology of the NES wasn't enough see this idea fully realized, but with Nintendo harking back so strongly to the original Legend Of Zelda through gameplay philosophy and the vastly open world, perhaps they decided to revisit this idea?

For a start, Link begins by waking up the Shrine Of Resurrection, a place which looks not so much magical as high-tech. The Guardian enemies, too, are advanced machinery, and drop screws and bolts which you can collect. On top of that, Nintendo themselves have repeatedly emphasized that the main theme of Breath Of The Wild is technology vs. nature.

Sounds pretty plausible, right?
