Link's cute new chubby design is indescribably adorable. The characters, and the world around them suits this new art direction so incredibly well.

A straight-up remake with clearly defined pixel art would have been exciting enough, but with everything looking so fresh and new and adorable, the new Link's Awakening really does measure up to expectations.

Since The Wind Waker, Nintendo have proven their ability to completely change Link's visual design, and yet keep his essence the same. There hasn't been a single art direction in Nintendo's Legend of Zelda games that has not worked incredibly well, and variety is the spice of life, after all, so it's lovely to see them trying something new with a game that had already such a well-established art style, and absolutely nailing it.

Once you get the Pegasus Boots, charge into a tree and pick up an apple. You'll thank me.
