20 Best Found Footage Horror Movies Ever

7. One Cut of the Dead

Paranormal Activity
Third Window

One Cut of the Dead is the only found footage film to hold a "perfect" 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes - and it's most certainly well earned.

Though it'd be criminal to spoil the surprising particulars of Shin'ichirō Ueda's brain-breakingly brilliant zombie comedy, it's safe to say that this deliciously meta, micro-budget found footage effort is a testament to the prevalence of smart ideas and creativity over money.

What begins as a straight-faced tale of a zombie film crew being attacked by zombies for real over the course of a single take morphs into something else entirely, with numerous brilliantly executed rug-pulls peeling back the layers of the film-within-a-film's production like an onion.

The third act, which brings the movie's many mysteries and eccentricities into full focus in gut-bustingly funny fashion, makes for one of the most impeccably executed final reels of any found footage flick. Watch it now before someone spoils it for you.
