After M3GAN creator Gemma and her niece Cady narrowly survived the murderous doll's rampage in the 2022 movie, the two try to piece their lives back together.

However, everything goes to hell in M3GAN 2.0 when another android, AMELIA, devises a scheme to take control over all technology. Realising AMELIA is too powerful to face off against on their own, Gemma and Cady ally with M3GAN to bring the rogue AI down.

M3GAN intends to backstab Gemma the first chance she gets, but her programming compels her to protect Cady, creating an uneasy conflict between the characters. To be fair, M3GAN performs a few noble gestures, even rescuing Gemma during the. climax. With that said, it's hard to tell whether M3GAN will resume her massacre once AMELIA is out of the picture.

But during the final confrontation, M3GAN shows her true colours, as, after gaining access to all of the world's tech, M3GAN has the opportunity to carry out AMELIA's plan. Alas, M3GAN activates an EMP, destroying AMELIA and herself in the process. 

Although viewers were half-expecting M3GAN to embrace villainy by the end, she proved her doubters wrong by sacrificing herself for the greater good.
