20 Horror Sequels That Were Just Announced

Hope is the much anticipated new action-horror film from Na Hong-jin, a full decade after his masterful supernatural horror film The Wailing.

The film follows the residents of a remote harbour town who find themselves facing off against alien entities that crash-land there. And Hong-jin has wasted no time at all talking up an in-the-works sequel, as just a day after the film's world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival back in May, he confirmed that the script for Hope 2 was already written.

Now, in fairness, Hope 2 actually getting made will presumably depend on its global box office performance, but considering it's already recouped most of its $45 million budget in its native South Korea alone, it'll hopefully continue to perform well with its worldwide rollout over the next few months.

If nothing else, if Hope is commercially successful, it's nice knowing we (probably) won't be left waiting another full decade for a new Na Hong-jin movie.
